Richfield is my default Target shopping location. For many years, I was very happy getting pretty much all my groceries here but I find myself shopping here less and less frequently. Reasons: They don't carry basic items I want (clear ammonia... #6 Melitta filters). They favor their own brands vs other brands and I have thrown out a good half-dozen of their branded food items that I found inedible so I only buy their brand judiciously. They must throw the food from one side of the warehouse to the other. I am hard-pressed to find an un-dented can or a package of cookies that aren't crumbs. There are often entire facings of items that are empty and can be empty for weeks (even months). Their cartwheel program offers great deals on items it turns out they don't carry (after I spent 10 minutes looking for it). If you're hungry and want to grab a snack... the pickings are slim. When an associate is available, they are helpful and friendly, but they often aren't and I have to go searching for one to get that top shelf item that's all the way in the back. I will continue to shop here a few times a month. I need Target. I just don't like shopping here. More and more, I shifting my grocery shopping to other stores.
This Target is one of the better ones in terms of how modern and good looking it is. They seem to have issues keeping things stocked though. There are a lot of empty shelves no matter what time or day you go. I've never seen a Target that has had this problem so this seems kind of odd.
Love My Target! For a quick stop or a full on "Target Run", it's an Awesome store. Clean, organized, fast check outs, fresh produce, everything you need!
Target is second to Walmart for mass of goods shipped across the ocean to the U.S., according to the 99% Invisible podcast on shipping containers. As a store, it has a lot of things to buy. General parking at this location is easy so long as you're willing to walk. I have used self-checkout machines here.
The first and only (at present) Target in the nation with these aesthetics and layout. Next to World HQ so employees are typically well versed and more apt to help. Can become very busy during lunch time at it lies in the middle of Minneapolis's Central Business District.
